(August, 25 2003)The largest infrared space telescope called Spitzer, in homage to the American astrophysicist Lyman Spitzer, is orbited by a Delta II rocket from a launch at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
Liberation of Paris
(August, 25 1944)After four years of occupation of the French capital, the Allies emerged victorious from the battle of Paris (started August 19, 1944) and liberated Paris. To the Montparnasse train station, General Leclerc obtained the surrender of German troops.
