Beginning of the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge connects the city of San Francisco to the town of Sausalito. It spans the strait that separates the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Its length is 1970 m and is the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964.
