Six years after the screening of the Lumiere brothers, Georges Méliès produced, wrote and directed the first film with special effects. Inspired by the novels of Jules Verne: From the Earth to the Moon and H. G. Wells: The First Men in the Moon, the short film lasting 14 minutes will experience a significant popular success.
