Creation by Charles Joseph Bonaparte of a Federal Police of the United States named Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, which is literally translated as "Federal Bureau of Investigation"). Originally, it was called the Bureau of Investigation (BOI), which was renamed in 1935. Its "John Edgar Hoover FBI Building" is headquartered in Washington, DC, with offices throughout the country. Territory in more than four hundred American cities.
